The
School of Education offers graduate programs in
Childhood Education, Special Education, Literacy
and Adolescence Education in the areas of English,
Mathematics, the Sciences and Social Studies. The
goal of the School is to prepare caring, competent
and qualified professional educators who are dedicated
to their profession and to diverse learning communities.
Graduates of these programs are well-grounded in their discipline. This grounding occurs in several areas, including intellectual breadth and depth on their area of focus; pedagogical theory and practice; social critiques and transformative action that promotes equity, diversity and democratic processes: a view of themselves as capable and connected to others; and development of a set of beliefs, attitudes and commitments related to their work.
